Why Did I Start Freelancing?

Writing

When I told my wife that I wanted to quit my job, she was astonished and exclaimed:
“You’re crazy!”

I absolutely get where she’s coming from, but she didn’t really understand what I wanted from life.

I didn’t want to live life on the weekends, I didn’t want to be ‘Scott Adlhoch: The Editor in Chief’ if it meant that I’d have to pause every big event in my life for my work. I missed countless of things when I was working on the clock…

…my daughter’s birth, her first steps, my wife’s graduation, our son’s games…
And I was done being unavailable. I wanted to be there for my family.

So, I quit my well-paying job and started freelancing. And I don’t regret it one bit! I’m there for my family, I can jump one a flight to Tokyo tomorrow without having to worry about anything.

Can you?

With that thought, I’ll bid you farewell.
